Certainly. BHIP can performing the following projects for you prior to activating our IDS/reference entry service:
Adding matter relationships.
If a Customer IP manager system has no matters related with the IDS manager or otherwise, BHIP can perform the following:
- Run a report from your IP management system and BHIP’s active docketing database.
- Use the reports to identify related matters using shared priority dates and other information such as titles, inventors and specifications as needed.
- You review the reports as desired to verify correct relationships were found, and/or to add/edit.
- BHIP docketing team (or you) can add the relationships to your IP management system.
Backfilling references into the IDS reference lists in each matter, includes these steps:
- Using the cited references listed in Patent Center for a matter, and by pulling are port from the Common Citation Database, a list of references to add to each matter can be assembled.
- Using the Common Citation Database, BHIP can enter a list of references from that database into the BHIP master IDS database.
- In addition, cited references from the matter in Patent Center can also be extracted and added to the BHIP master IDS database.
- By comparing the references from the matter in Patent Center and the references listed in the Common Citation Database, it can be determined which of the references in the Common Citation Database have been cited already in a matter, and which have been not.
- You can then review any references not yet cited to determine if they needed to be cited.
