Examiner Analytics

As a client of BHIP, you will notice a PDF included with all office actions we report out which includes our examiner analytics. But you certainly don't need to wait around for an office action to take advantage of this tool. This complimentary data will provide better understanding of the tendencies of your examiner. This includes allowance vs abandonment data based on art unit number, class or just all cases, a snapshot of the examiners current workload and the average time to issuance for their past work.  Navigating to the Analytics tab of the BHIP Portal, you will be greeted with a search bar, allowing you to see insights into any published patent at the USPTO. Let's take a look at what's inside...

Allowance vs Abandonment Rates

The first pie chart offers insight into your specific examiner's and how often patents assigned to them are abandoned or allowed. The second and third pie charts cast a wider net, looking at the same data points but across all filings under your patent's class and art unit, not just the ones assigned to your examiner.

Allowances vs Rejection Rates (past 6 months)

If you are more interested in recent trends, we include allowance vs rejection trends based on the past 6 months as well.

Time to Issuance

Anyone who has dealt with the USPTO knows that trying to predict timing is a near impossibility. Not anymore. We provide average timeline statistics based on examiner so that you can better plan your prosecution timeline. Here you can see your examiner's average time to issuance overall or based on your patent's class and art unit number.

Current Load

You're also provided insights into the workload of your examiner. This includes how many patent matters are currently under their jurisdiction and which are waiting on them vs waiting on the applicant. You will also be able to see breakdown of the the specific Action Type or stage that their workload is in.

This complimentary data will help your organization better plan for the future, bringing clarity to both your budget and your prosecution timeline.
